Center for Narrative
Studies
Run by Paul Costello, this center has developed many powerful tools
for using storytelling with groups and organizations. They've recently
partnered with the Taos Institute to deliver their next round of
offerings in 2004.
Story,
Self, and Society Journal
This is the first Interdisciplinary Journal of Storytelling
Studies. It accepts submissions on the scholarship of story's role
in the 21st century.
National
Storytelling Network
The largest national association for professional storytellers,
includes a special interest group devoted to organizational storytelling.
This year’s conference is in Bellingham Washington, July 7-12
at Western Washington University.
StoryCon
Held in both 2002 and 2003, this was the World's First Summit
Meeting on Art, Science, and Application of Story. Check out their
web site for a taste of story's full reach and spectrum.
National
Storytelling Festival
Celebrating more
then 30 years of story magic, this is the pre-eminent gathering
of professional storytellers in the nation. Come watch the masters
ply their trade in Jonesborough, Tennessee on October 1-3, 2004
Digital
Storytelling Festival
Now in its 7th year, this event takes place in Sedona, Arizona
this June 10-12th, 2004. Focus is how to use technology to share
stories in education, activism, business, and other fields.
